# Thuki

Thuki is built for the moments between work, not the work itself: quick throwaway questions, fast summaries, slash-command actions on selected text. Long-term direction is a fully agentic assistant that handles Gmail, Calendar, Slack, and other apps via MCP integrations.

- Hardware: Apple Silicon (M1 or later); macOS 13.4 (Ventura) or later required. Intel is not supported.

- Price: free and open source today. No subscription, no per-query charge, no cloud bill. Any future premium features would be additive, not a paywall on what is free now.
- Model runtime: Thuki's built-in llama.cpp engine (default); Ollama optional. Runs open GGUF models like Llama, Gemma, Qwen, Mistral, and Phi.
- Storage: single local SQLite file. No backend, no server, no remote logs.
- Activation: double-tap Control key. System-wide; works above any app including fullscreen.
